What we collect
- Adult accounts — your name, email address, phone number and password (stored securely, never visible to us in plain text).
- Kid accounts — a first and last name only. Kids never give an email, phone number or password; a parent or guardian at their address approves them.
- Business accounts — your business name and the details you choose to put on your public page (phone, website, address, photos).
- Your address claim — which home you claimed with its letterbox code, so the app knows your street and suburb groups.
- What you do in the app — posts, photos, comments, likes, event RSVPs, businesses you follow, and reports or blocks you make.
What other people can see
- Your name and profile picture appear on posts and comments you make — unless you post anonymously, in which case neither is shown.
- Your street and suburb group names are visible to their members. Your exact house address and letterbox code are never shown to anyone, ever.
- A business page shows whatever the owner put on it, plus its follower count.
What we never do
- We never sell or rent your information to anyone.
- No advertising networks, no tracking you across other apps or websites, no third-party analytics.
- We don't track your location. The weather on the home screen is the public Bureau of Meteorology reading for the Redlands — nothing about you is sent to get it.
Kids
Kid accounts are view-only: kids can look at news, like posts and RSVP to events, but cannot post, comment, host events or claim an address — these limits are enforced on our servers, not just in the app. A kid joins only when the adult who owns their home address approves the request.
Where your information lives
Your data is stored with Supabase, our database provider, and is encrypted in transit. Access is restricted by per-account security rules — one neighbour can never read another's private details.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account any time from the You tab inside the app. Your profile and personal details are removed; any posts you leave behind are anonymised (shown as "a former neighbour"). If you can't get into the app, contact us and we'll delete it for you.
